Maundy Thursday

April 5, 2012

 
6:00 pm - FOLK EUCHARIST AND LAMB SUPPER 
The service concludes with a procession into the “Garden of Gethsemane” for the stripping of the Chancel and Altar.  Tickets go on sale for the Lamb Supper three weeks prior, and are $6 per person. Bring you Lenten offering envelopes as your offering for this service.
 
MUSICIANS/SINGERS - We are looking for voices and instruments (guitar, harmonica, flute, trumpet, violin, tambourine, etc.) to help lead this service. Contact Patrick Hagan and come a little early!
 
VIGIL - 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm
             “Could you not watch with me one hour?”
              Following the stripping of the altar the Church will be open until 10:00 pm for reflection and prayer.  Call the office or sign up on the bulletin board.
 
 

Good Friday

12:00 pm   One hour Ecumenical Service featuring as guest preacher, The Rev. Maggie Lewis, from the First Baptist Church.
 
7:00 pm  Solemn Liturgy for Good Friday with Holy Eucharist from the reserved Sacrament.  This includes a dramatic sermon presentation by Pastor Odie of Jesus’ father JOSEPH.  Music with the Senior Choirs and Organ.

Dinner at 6:00 PM, Seminar from 6:30 – 7:30 PM.
 
For four (4) Wednesdays in Lent our topic of discussion will be “Connecting Our Actions to the Environment”. After enjoying a good soup or two we will be engaged in a presentation and a short discussion afterwards. Led by Pastor Alanna and Tony Krutiak.

INQUIRERS’ CLASS

SATURDAY MARCH 10TH AND MARCH 24TH

 
9:00AM – 12:00 Noon
Sign up on the bulletin board or by calling the church office. Deepen your knowledge of your faith, religion and the Episcopal Church. There will be two sessions taught by the Pastor Odie on Saturday March 10th and 24th, from 9 am – 12 noon each day.  The class is considered adequate preparation for anyone desiring to be confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church when the Bishop comes for Confirmation on April 1st.
