Holy Eucharist
Also called "Communion" or the "Lord's Supper," the sacrament of Holy Eucharist is central to the life of our Church.  It is primarily a celebration of God's love, redemption, and forgiveness in our lives through Jesus Christ and an offering of praise and thanksgiving to God.  In the Holy Eucharist, the community shares holy bread and wine together, and are spiritually fed by the presence of Christ. The bread and wine are consecrated, or made holy, during the "Eucharistic Prayer," or "Prayer of Thanksgiving," during which we remember God's love and goodness towards humankind, culminating in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In sharing the bread and wine we are made mindful of Christ's presence with us and among us, and enabled to respond to that presence with love, praise, thanksgiving, and service to God and one another. In addition, the Eucharist is spiritual nourishment and a foretaste of the heavenly banquet which God has prepared for us all to share and participate in.
