Funerals

The clergy are available to preside at the funeral of any person, whether or not the person is a member of Good Shepherd. When a person's death is imminent, the church can be called if prayers and/or the service of Ministration at the time of Death are desired.

The church should be called immediately at the time of death so the clergy may respond appropriately and help with the decisions regarding the funeral service and arrangements. The funeral service can take place at the church with Holy Communion an option to be included at the discretion of the family. Funeral services can also take place at a funeral home or other appropriate location.

Cremation is an option for those who desire it and Good Shepherd has a Memorial Garden for cremated remains. The burial of the body or cremated remains can take place immediately after the funeral service or at another time convenient to the family. Some families may choose to only have a service of interment at the cemetery.
