Nursery Care

Our Mission

Children are our special responsibility entrusted to our care by God. It is the mission of our Nursery Staff here at The Church of the Good Shepherd to provide a place where young children are loved, nurtured, and cared for. In our Nursery, infants, toddlers, and two year olds have their first introduction to their church home. Here thy learn from loving caregivers what Jesus taught the children: God loves you!

Availability

The Nursery is available from 8:00 AM until 11:00 PM each Sunday. For the health and safety of all our children, we would ask that when bringing children to the nursery you follow the guidelines below.

Ages & Location

The Good Shepherd Nursery is in the parish hall, and provides care for the following ages:

Infants: newborn to 12 months

Pre-Toddlers: 1-30 months

Advancement

Children turning three enter the Godly Play program if their birthday fall before the 31st of August. If their birthday is after this date, we ask that you wait for the next year for your child to begin Godly Play.

Staff

Our Nursery is staffed by paid Nursery Care providers, and Nursery Volunteers. Please feel free to contact the staff (Heidi Odierna and Inbal Ashkenazi) or the clergy with any comments of concerns you might have.

Volunteers

Because as parents you have so much to offer our Nursery, if you use the Nursery regularly, your name will be placed on our volunteer list and you will be asked to volunteer. You will be in the room with a regular Nursery Staff person and will be asked to help with the children in their care on that day. This may be coloring, reading stories, holding babies, or giving bottles. You will be sent a schedule notifying you about the date you will be asked to help. It is typically only once every other month.
